While many have heard of the Colares case from Brazil, this documentary is still quite interesting NRE resting as it has interviews with people directly involved whose lives were changed forever.
From the summary:
In 1977, the Brazilian island of Colares and the area of the Amazon delta were visited by flying objects of an unknown nature. Nearly all kinds of UFOs were seen, some big, some small, saucer-shaped, cigar-shaped, barrel-shaped, luminous or not.
They arrived generally from the North every day, from the sky and also sometimes from underwater, and it lasted for months. Regularly, some inhabitants were targeted by the objects which beamed strange lights at them, causing serious burns and strange needle marks.
The Air Force appointed Captain Uyrangê Hollanda, to go to Colares to investigate, report and protect the people. The weird rays hurt thirty-five people, and civilians fled from their villages. Some of them died. Also many animals died under mysterious circumstances.
