Ptolemy’s model of the universe was not a pretty or simple one, famously heaping ‘circles upon circles’ to try and match observations of the movement of the planets (and Sun). Its great complexity would be one of the reasons that drove Copernicus to search for an alternative understanding of the configuration of the planets, Sun and Earth.
When you animate a rough 3d model of it, though, it ends up being quite visually entertaining.
