So MrBeast is the biggest YouTuber in the world, with his main channel having over 300,000,000 subscribers. But it wasn't always that way.

Back in 2018-19, the battle for "biggest YouTuber" was between Pewdiepie and T-Series around 100,000,000 subscribers. At the time, MrBeast had many incredibly viral videos, and his own subscriber count was around 20-30M.

MrBeast's content has really not changed at all from 2019. He was doing crazy challenges and social experiments back then, just like he is doing today.

So what explains his ability to grow his channel into the most followed on all of YouTube?

Ok, hold those thoughts. I swear this next part might sound like a bit of a shitpost, but I'm dead serious.

"The devil" famously "went down to Georgia" and was "looking to make a deal". There are numerous accounts throughout history of "making a deal with the devil at the crossroads". Perhaps the most famous in American folklore is the story of Blues musician Robert Johnson, who supposedly made a deal with the devil at the crossroads in Mississippi, which gave him the gift of inventing Blues Music, becoming the most successful blues musician at the time, and then dying a premature death at the age of 27 years old, on stage, after foaming from the mouth and seeming like he was possessed by the devil himself.

These "deals with the devil at the crossroads" typically promise immense success, but at a cost. The cost usually comes later, at the peak of one's success.

In the last few years, we've seen a lot of controversy around MrBeast, especially around his longtime friend, Ava Kris Tyson. At first, Tyson's transition garnered a lot of attention from various corners of the internet. Now, there are many allegations that Tyson acted inappropriately towards minors on the internet. MrBeast has taken damage by proxy. But it's not only that… MrBeast has also taken flack in recent times for conditions working at his company, treatment of employees, and other similar stuff. Not to mention some associating the name "MrBeast" with Luciferian comparisons to the devil in Biblical terms. And the fact MrBeast used to incorporate many 6's in his name and numerology (his old username was MrBeast6000).

These deals with the devil are also prominent in the American South, where MrBeast (Jimmy) is from (North Carolina). North Carolina even shares a border with Georgia, where the devil is known to frequent in the famous song.

So my question is…. did MrBeast make a "deal with the devil" at the crossroads one night? Are his recent controversies a result of the devil coming to collect his dues? Furthermore, could more "dues" be due soon? I hate to even say it, but Jimmy is not even 27 years old yet. Could he see a similar fate to other members of the 27 club who "made a deal with the devil", like the late, great, blues musician, Robert Johnson?

What are your thoughts?

  1. Not the answer you’re looking for:

I believe there is a point where sub accounts hit a parabolic curve with a confluence of users (actual people) and bots/bot farms. His channel has so much exposure he may be the best example of what that parabolic curve could look like in a runaway scenario.

    Don’t know though.
