Saw this light in the sky with my family, initially thought it was laser lights, but then I realised, this was too big of a wide strobe and the color did not fit any laser that I know of. Saw this light from my 3rd floor window and then rushed into the terrace. There I saw these strobes originating from within a cloud high up in the sky and they were moving left to right for close to 5 minutes. These were seen over the sky of Ashok Nagar, Chennai at 23:32, 2 to 3 strobes originating from the west towards the east. The lights were sweeping the sky left to light, each light covering a 10 degree angle.
Looking for a logical reason for the light. The strobe I can identify as those powerful torchlights which can stretch across some kilometers in the sky.
Can anyone let me know what is this phenomena? Or is it a signal of some sort? I have seen these long lights coming out of a light house or powerful torches.
